Chapter Eighteen

How he wished to lock both of them up in this room, invisible to the world and safe from any threat, but Kai knew better. However, the way Isabel had wrapped herself around him in her sleep was an indication that he wasn’t the only one wanting to stay in bed.

After their explosive session on the couch, he had brought her to the bedroom. As soon as she touched the cool sheets, Isabel had woken up and made a very interesting case of convincing him to do another variation to demonstrate how good they were together.

The only regret he had was the little sleep they both got. He was used to it, but Isabel was not at her best. The rising sun was just illuminating the room when her baby blue eyes opened to the world and she smiled at him. Too quickly, reality dimmed their shine and after one last snuggle, she left his side to put her pink pajamas on.

With only his dress pants in a decent state, he put them on and took out his phone. A quick text from Archer told him that he had clothes for them, and breakfast was on the way when they were ready.

Isabel had her phone in her hand as he guided her toward the elevator and up to Archer and Zoe’s place.

“Good morning!” Cheerfully, Zoe called from the kitchen, out of sight as Archer came from the hallway with baby Julia wailing in his arms.

Undisturbed, Archer shoved the baby in Kai’s arms who was the closest. “I have a call to take now. Two minutes.”

Kai looked at the pudgy little face and started to make silly sounds that eventually distracted the fussy child. Kai had always found baby Julia adorable with that thin mop of red hair that was the same color as her mom’s.

Isabel by his side looked at him strangely. “What?”

But she didn’t have time to answer as Zoe came around with a cup of coffee for Isabel. “Hey! I want a cup too!”

Zoe winked at him. “Now you seem to be on baby duty, so no coffee. I didn’t know how you took your coffee, Izzy, but there are cream and sugar in the kitchen. I was planning on French toast with bacon this morning if that suits you.”

Isabel smiled and went to the kitchen. “It’s perfect. Do you need help?”

“Nope, my little brother Lucas should be here any minute now to help out. He’s on breakfast duty today. Go enjoy your coffee.”

As she passed to go to the table, Kai grabbed a handful of delightfully lush ass. Isabel smiled and shook her head, mouthing something that looked like the word insatiable.

Ignoring Zoe’s order, Kai poured himself a cup of brew, adding a liberal amount of sugar to it. Julia was too busy playing with his hair and giggling at how his beard scratched her little hands to care. Before he picked up his cup, he untangled the small hands with kisses and switched her, so she faced forward against his hip.
